My Second Steampunk!

This is "Angelfly Steampunk". She started out with a silver filigree circle that has little flowers on it, then I attached an antique filigree rhinestone dragonfly (use to be brooch), added my fused glass handpainted face, accented with vintage watch gears (notice the small one over one eye) and just for fun added some non tarnishing silver curlycues. I added a silver ring on top that will accomodate a nice size chain. She really is quite a show stopper.

My First Steampunk Pendant

Here is my first effort at creating Steampunk Art. I first painted the little face, and she is little, probably the size of a dime. Then added a, what use to be, vintage brooch, added the chain with 3 small vintage pearl beads and a piece of vintage watch and then to top it all off a vintage watch gear on the rhinestone brooch. I forgot the best part, all of this is attached to a reproduction silver filigree back.

I'm Back!

I took the week off and I am back and will have new pendants tomorrow. I have been working on some new ideas and will be showing those in the next few weeks. I am currently getting ready for a jewelry open house for later this summer. I will let you know more about that in the next month or so.

For those of you that follow this blog and also make and sell jewelry I am going to start adding some ideas for how to take pictures of your jewelry, display ideas and how to make your own cute little gift bags. If you have any questions or ideas feel free to ask and share.

Check back tomorrow for new pendants!

WHAT TO NAME THEM

Sometimes painting these little ladies isn't difficult, naming them becomes the problem. Most of the time I just look at them and the first name that comes to mind is what I call them. Usually it works out. Well this time, I have no idea why, the name came to me to call this one "Angelica Over Houston". Makes absolutely no sense to me, but that is her name.

Then there is "Angel of the Sea" this one makes more sense because the background glass reminds me of the rough sea and she is so calm looking that the two seem to work together.

These little ladies are fast becoming collectors items. I am having trouble keeping up with the special orders and adding new ones.

I am loving today! We have a steady rain, I love the sound and the smell.

HOOCHIE MAMA NECKLACE

I can't remember if I included the link for the instructions for the "Hoochie Mama" beaded necklace. I love the way Barbara Ellis beaded this. She creates and writes the patterns for her beautiful work. Anyway here is the link. Just copy and paste in your address bar.
